I have a trial practice in the heart of Boston’s financial district, concentrating on employment law and business litigation. I have been representing businesses, ranging from small businesses to large, publicly-traded ones, in a wide variety of litigation matters since 1993.
I represent employers defending claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation and various types of wage and hour claims. I frequently represent employers before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) and the federal Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC), in investigations conducted by the federal Department of Labor or the Massachusetts in investigations conducted by the federal Department of Labor or the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, and defending lawsuits brought in state and federal court. I have represented employers against claims brought under the Massachusetts Fair Employment Practices Act, G.L. c. 151B; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964;- the Equal Pay Act;- the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Massachusetts Wage Act, and the Massachusetts Overtime Law.
I also provide non-litigation employment law services to employers, by advising them on hires and terminations and employee classifications and by drafting employment agreements, policies and handbooks.
I also represent executives in employment disputes and in connection with employment separations, including the negotiation of employment and severance agreements, defending claims of breach of non-compete agreements/non-disclosure agreements, and pursuing significant wage/commission claims.
In addition to employment law, I represent individuals and businesses in a variety of business disputes, such as claims involving financial fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, shareholder disputes, and disputes involving commercial leases. I have also served as local counsel for large, national companies, defending consumer class actions.
I have tried numerous cases in the Massachusetts Superior Courts and District Courts and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. I have also drafted numerous appellate briefs submitted to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Appeals Court and have argued before those courts over thirty times.

In representing businesses and employers in litigation matters, I typically charge an hourly rate, but am open to discussing a flat fee arrangement based on the stages of litigation. For drafting employee handbooks, policies and agreements or conducting HR audits, I charge flat fees depending on the size of the business. I am also available to be retained to act as a company’s employment counsel and/or general counsel to be available on an as-needed basis and I charge a monthly or quarterly retainer fee for such services.
