I have a small trial practice in the heart of Boston’s financial district. I have been representing individuals and businesses in a wide variety of litigation matters since 1993. I concentrate in employment law and business litigation, but also represent clients in significant personal injury matters and on appeals.
As a Boston employment attorney, I represent employees in claims for discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation and on a variety of wage and hour disputes. I frequently represent employees in claims brought under the Massachusetts Fair Employment Practices Act, G.L. c. 151B, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Pay Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Massachusetts Wage Act, the Massachusetts Overtime Law, and the Massachusetts Healthcare Workers Whistleblower Law.
I also represent small and mid-sized businesses in defense of the same types of employment claims, and also provide such businesses with pre-dispute counseling and drafting of employment policies and agreements. I also represent employees and employers in disputes involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
While many employment attorneys only represent employees or only represent management, I believe my representing both employees and management in different employment matters provides me with greater insight into how a given case may be pursued or defended and that I am able to use such insight to better assess a claim and to represent effectively my clients interests.

In addition to employment law, I represent individual and small to mid-size businesses in a variety of business disputes, such as claims involving financial fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, shareholder disputes, and disputes involving commercial leases.
I have tried numerous cases in the Massachusetts Superior Courts and District Courts and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. I have also drafted numerous appellate briefs submitted to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Appeals Court and have argued before those courts over thirty times.

In representing businesses and employers in litigation matters, I typically charge an hourly rate, but am open to discussing a flat fee arrangement based on the stages of litigation. For drafting employee handbooks, policies and agreements or conducting HR audits, I charge flat fees depending on the size of the business. I am also available to be retained to act as a company’s employment counsel to be available on an as-needed basis with respect to hiring, firing, and other employee-related decisions and I charge a monthly or quarterly retainer fee for such services.
